“Those who cannot play catapult…How can they gun “
In the elections of 1994, the Maoist wing, at the time known as The United People’s Front , failed to win the less than 3% of the vote leading to their exclusion from voter lists. In response, they abandoned electoral politics and in 1996 launched the insurgency. Nepalese politician hardly remember a committee formed in 1995 to tackle the demands of the Maoist, which by then were armless. A committee was chaired by Mr. Deuba . The party had warned that if their demands were not taken seriously they will spark the movement. But Mr. Deuba took Maoist demand very lightly as like other committee does, often found in Nepalese politiccs. During the same year, Mr. Deuba once shouted after the meeting with the Maoist Actvists….”Those who cannot play catapult how can they gun”. The turnout of a tiniest mistake of Mr. Deuba brought a huge problem in Nepal. It is widely speculated that If he could have taken the matter seriously the problem could have been solved. It is widely known that Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba is one of the unluckiest PM of Nepal.
