World AIDS Day 2008
Despite of my work nature, I own more PLWHA friends then the ordinary one, who are so closely attached with me. They talk about issue and I add one more on. They share their thoughts, their witty comments and inimitable sense of humor and I try to share mine, shedding some lights. All these friends suffers from heartfelt feelings about future, about life and more importantly about stigma. I find organization like NAPN, Snehsamaj, Shaktimilan, BDS, FAITH, AAN, NKPlus, Youth Vision, Nepal Youth and many more working hand in hand for the basic rights for PLWHA. The rights are slowly reflecting in practice. I see friends and children are recieving free ARV drugs, receieving minimum facility to check up their CD4 status. Though, Its just a minimum. A lot has to be done. There are uncertainty ahead. But Hopes are alive. The death fall has sharply down, but the numbers of living with infection has raised. New challenges are popping up. Every memento mori like my beloved friends have to go through really taugh time. All the sudden, HIV starts to demand tremendous amount of patient, pain, depression and sense of hopelesness and NGO like those will always be frontrunner for them to rescue. I love their work.
WORD AIDS DAY is just not for an other kinds of person. Its for you, me and everyone. Lets unite together to help, support the infected and affected’s friends and their family. Lets raise our voice, lets spread awareness among us, among our community. Lets give them respect and dignity to live in this society. Lets raise voice for their rights. Lets fight for their rigths. Lets make stigma free society. Lets make everyone vulnerable free. Lets make this place, this nation, this city, this village, this downtown an AIDS free. Lets start right away.
